Philosophy

I believe that therapy is a partnership between the client and therapist. Effective therapeutic relationships are built on on mutual respect and the client and therapist must both be open to learning from each other. Every client I have ever worked with has brought with them their own individual strengths and as I see it, it is my job to help identify and build on those strengths

Education and Professional Background

Lara graduated with a Bachcelors of Social Work from Idaho State University and a Masters of Social Work from Washington University in Saint Louis. She has been practicing for more than 30 years and hs worked in mental health agency, private practice, and school settings. She specializes in working with families, grief and loss, infertility, trauma, blended families, adoption, attachment, life transitions, and any issues specific to children and adolescents.

Personal Interests

Spending time with family and friends, gardening, reading, cooking, and collecting repairing and refurbishing vintage and antique items.
