Meet the Coordinator

Shannon Busse

Prevention Specialist

Shannon Busse was born in Murray, Utah, moved to a few different states with her family before returning to Utah to attend BYU. She transferred to the University of Illinois at Chicago and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications. She focused on family before joining the business world helping entrepreneurs with photography and brand storytelling. She specialized in creating ways to represent them well in online and in person spaces to increase the positive impact of their businesses. Somewhere along the way, she realized that the deeper work of helping people shift the way they see themselves was at the heart of all of her work so she began a master’s program in clinical mental health counseling. She’s currently enrolled in an accredited licensure program and is projected to earn her master’s degree next year. She recently moved from Virginia to Clearfield, Utah, wanting to return to her roots and be near family. Four daughters now live in Utah, and her son is stationed in Japan with the Air Force. She’s excited to be serving as a prevention specialist with Davis Behavioral Health and join forces with community advocates who are fighting to prevent youth risk factors and create deeper, more positive community connection. She is seeking ways to integrate prevention and clinical work to understand how much communities can accomplish in proactive ways to safeguard youth mental health.
