Mindfulness Curriculum Training for Educators
Learning to BREATHE (L2B) is a mindfulness-based curriculum created for classroom or group settings. Mindfulness is the practice of becoming aware of one’s present-moment experience with compassion and openness as a basis for wise action. This curriculum is intended to strengthen attention and emotion regulation, cultivate wholesome emotions like gratitude and compassion, expand the repertoire of stress management skills, and help participants integrate mindfulness into daily life. Each lesson includes age-appropriate discussion, activities, and opportunities to practice mindfulness in a group setting. L2B has been researched in many settings and used with adolescents and adults. L2B has been recognized in the 2015 CASEL (Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning) Guide as meeting research criteria for effective SEL programs. Course Details
Prerequisite: Completion of an 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course; background in education, health promotion, mental health counseling, or a related field. Click here to register for an MBSR course. Both In-person and live-online (via Zoom) formats are available.
The Learning to BREATHE (L2B) comprehensive training is designed to help you facilitate the growth of mindfulness in adolescents using the Learning to BREATHE (L2B) program. We begin on the first day (Foundation) with a broad overview of the theory and research behind Learning to BREATHE (L2B), a mindfulness-based intervention for adolescents and young adults. The remaining days (Intensive) are spent in demonstration, small-group practice and group feedback for each of the six themes of the program. Discussion about the role of the teacher and the pedagogical elements of mindfulness-based programs is part of the workshop. All materials for the workshop will be provided. If you have access to a L2B manual, you may wish to look through it in advance.

We will provide you with a copy of the curriculum and all needed training materials. CEU certificates are available for both the MBSR and L2B training.
